Vonage Features
Vonage Provides 911
Because Your Safety Is Important
At Vonage, we provide a safe and reliable means of communication
in times of emergency. Vonage 911 Dialing service operates differently
than traditional 911, and because your safety is important to
us, you'll just have to fill out a short form during the sign
up process that tells us the street address where you will be
using your Vonage service.
Most of our customers (other than WiFi and Softphone customers)
have access to either basic 911 or Enhanced 911 (E911) service.
With E911 service, when you dial 911, your telephone number and
registered address is simultaneously sent to the local emergency
center assigned to your location, and emergency operators have
access to the information they need to send help and call you
back if necessary.
Customers in locations where the emergency center is not equipped
to receive your telephone number and address have basic 911.
With basic 911, the local emergency operator answering the call
will not have your call back number or your exact location, so
you must be prepared to give them this information. Until you
give the operator your phone number, he/she may not be able to
call you back or dispatch help if the call is not completed or
is not forwarded, is dropped or disconnected, or if you are unable
to speak. As additional local emergency centers become capable
of receiving our customers' information, Vonage will automatically
upgrade customers with basic 911 to E911 service. Vonage will
not give you notice of the upgrade.
Certain customers do not have access to either basic 911 or
E911. If you don't have access to basic 911 or E911 your 911
call will be sent to the Vonage national emergency call center.
A trained agent at the emergency call center will ask for the
name, telephone number and location of the customer calling 911,
and then contact the local emergency center for such customer
in order to send help. Examples of situations where 911 calls
will be sent to the Vonage national emergency call center include
when there is a problem validating a customer's address, the
customer is identified with an international location, or the
customer is located in an area that is not covered by the landline
911 network. In addition, if you use a WiFi or SoftPhone, due
to the portable nature of these Devices, your 911 calls will
be routed to the Vonage national emergency call center. Emergency
personnel do not receive your phone number or physical location
when your 911 call is routed to the Vonage national emergency
call center.
You must register with Vonage the physical location where you
will utilize Vonage phone service (Service) for each phone line.
Also note that if you move your device to another location, you
must register your new location – it's easy – just
log into the features section of your web account and follow
the instructions. If you do not register your new location, any
911 call you make may be sent to an emergency center near your
old location. You will register your initial location of use
when you subscribe to the Service. This process can take several
hours, and you will receive a confirmation email once 911 Dialing
has been activated for your initial location or for a newly registered
location. Regardless of what address you register for a WiFi
or SoftPhone, emergency calls you make from these devices will
be routed to the Vonage national emergency response center.
Remember that our 911 Dialing service will not function in the
event of a broadband or power outage or if your broadband, ISP
or Vonage phone service is terminated.
Voicemail Plus
Get Your Messages by Phone, Web, or Email
Stay on top of your messages in more ways than you ever thought
possible. Vonage Voicemail gives you total control over your
voicemail by phone, through email, and online.
Vonage Voicemail allows you to:
1. Play Back Your Messages Online & by Email
Now you can check your voicemails without checking your phone.
Access your voicemails through your Web Account and even play
them back through your computer. We can also send you an email
notifying you every time you receive voicemail and attach the
actual message. You'll be able to forward voicemails to others
as an email attachment or even save them to your PC's hard drive.
Most of the popular media player formats are supported.
2. Access Your Voicemail Box From Anywhere
Check your voicemails by phone with several access numbers across
the US, UK, and Canada. Also, you can check your voicemail from
any computer with Internet access by logging into your Web Account.
3. Customize Your Voicemail Controls
Turns these features on or off anytime you want. Activate email
notification at the touch of a button. Record Scheduled Greetings
for different hours of the day and different days of the year.
Choose a new PIN for voicemail access whenever you want.
CallerID
Before You Take the Call
You can tell who's calling you before you answer the phone.
Vonage Caller ID with Name will show you the name and phone number
of your incoming caller on your Caller ID device whenever it
is available. It's compatible with any Caller ID with Name-enabled
touch-tone phone or device. It's an excellent way to manage your
incoming calls.
With Caller ID with Name You're in Control
Vonage Caller ID with Name comes with great included extras.
The caller's identity is displayed right in the email you receive
when you activate Voicemail Notification
by Email. You can also see the caller's name in your web account
by moving your mouse over the call record.
It also works with Call Waiting, displaying the new caller's
identity when you hear the Call Waiting tones.
Vonage Caller ID with Name Is Included
Unlike many other providers, we don't charge for Caller ID with
Name. It's included in every Vonage plan.
Call Waiting
Vonage Call Waiting allows you to accept an incoming call while
you're already on a phone call. This feature places your first
call on hold while you answer the second incoming call.
Switching Between Calls Is Easy
While you're on the phone, a beep tone alerts you to another
incoming call. If available, the new phone number also displays
on your Caller ID device. If you want to take the call, press
the flash button or switch hook on your phone to answer the second
incoming call. Calls that you do not answer go to voicemail.
Disable Call Waiting Two Easy Ways
Use your Vonage online web account to activate/deactivate Call
Waiting for all calls. If you want to keep Call Waiting active
but want to turn it off for a single call, just press *70 before
you dial the number. Call Waiting will be temporarily disabled
until you complete the phone call.
Call Waiting Is Included With Your Vonage Service
Call Waiting is included in our low monthly Vonage calling plan
fee.
Call Forwarding
To Any Number You Want
Vonage Call Forwarding is now available to ring up to 6 numbers.
You can send incoming calls to any phone number you choose in
the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. And even with this
advanced functionality, it's still included with every Vonage
calling plan.
You're in Control
With the click of your mouse you can determine how you want
your Call Forwarding configured. Control the number of times
your Vonage phone rings before forwarding to another number.
Control how long Call Forwarding attempts to ring a destination
number. Control which voicemail picks up the forwarded call if
you have more than one voicemail system. And now you can control
how many numbers you would like to ring, all from your Web Account.
With SimulRingSM We Can Reach You Anywhere
Activate Vonage SimulRingSM and your incoming calls can ring
your Vonage number plus up to 5 other numbers in the US (including
Puerto Rico) and Canada regardless of phone service provider.
Since the numbers ring simultaneously, you can ensure that you
are answering your important calls as quickly as possible even
if you're on the move.
No Extra Charges For Call Forwarding
Call Forwarding and SimulRingSM are both included at no additional
cost with all Vonage accounts. However, remember that forwarded
calls are treated as an outgoing call. Therefore, if you are
not enrolled in one of our unlimited
plans, overage
charges apply to forwarded calls that exceed your calling
plan's monthly allotted minutes.
3-Way Calling
Anywhere on Earth
With Vonage 3-Way Calling, you can connect with two other parties
at the same time. The three of you can talk at once.
Setting up a 3-Way Call is simple.
- Dial your first party as you normally would.
- Once connected, press the Flash Button or Switch Hook on
your phone and dial the second party.
- After the second party is connected, press the Flash Button
or Switch Hook again, and you're all connected.
You won't be charged a fee to make 3-Way Calls if you are calling
within the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. If you are
calling Internationally, your call will be billed incrementally
based on that country rate, but there will be no extra fee for
making the 3-Way Call.
For billing purposes, we treat a 3-Way Call as two separate
calls that happen at the same time.
Now Vonage proves that 3-Way Calling doesn't have to be complicated
or cost extra money. It's just one of the many reasons to be
a Vonage customer.
In-Network Calling
To Any Other Vonage Subscriber, Worldwide
In-Network Calls are always included with your monthly calling
plan. Call domestically. Call internationally. It doesn't matter.
If the person you are calling is a Vonage customer you can talk
as long as you like.
Get Vonage For Your Friends, Relatives, and Business Associates
If you buy two Vonage lines and give one to someone, you can
stay in touch. In-Network Calls are always included, so they
never count towards any Vonage rated monthly phone plan.
Our Refer-A-Friend Program Lets Everyone Get Vonage At A Lower
Cost -- You'll Benefit Too
It makes great sense for you to sign up people you know. If
you use our Refer-A-Friend program,
you'll get a free month of Vonage service and so will the people
you refer.
Take Vonage With You

you can make and receive calls from one convenient Vonage number.
Vonage gives you unparalleled choice and control over where and

Moving and Still Want to Keep Your Number?
No problem, just take your phone adapter with you. Your phone
number is programmed into the equipment so you do not have to
change a thing.
Area Code Selection

Our phone service is available nationwide, so choose a new number
in your local calling area or select a number anywhere else in
the country. If you would like to keep your current number, just
use our easy tool on the right to check if your number can be
transferred.
Vonage Call Transfer
At the Push of a Button
Vonage Call Transfer allows you to direct calls to anywhere
you want in the US (including Puerto Rico) and Canada. After
you answer a call, you may have your call transferred to a phone
number of your choosing. For example, your cell phone, your office
phone or to any phone number in the US (including Puerto Rico)
and Canada. Your calls are transferred immediately.
Transfer Calls As You Receive Them
Vonage Call Transfer also allows you to transfer calls as they
ring in. Now you can transfer a call to someone else when you
want.

It's easy to transfer a call to a third party.
- Just press the flash button or switch hook on your Vonage
line telephone.

Then hit #.

Another Included Vonage Feature
There is no additional cost to transfer a call with your Vonage

plan. This means that all calls under our unlimited
plans will be at no extra charge, and for our rated plans,
calls will count towards your included monthly minutes.
Click-2-CallSM
You Click and We'll Do the Calling
Click-2-CallSM Saves You Time
With Vonage Click-2-CallSM, you select a phone number from anywhere
on your computer and we dial it instantly. Click-2-CallSM rings
your Vonage number first. When you pick up your phone, it then
rings the number you picked to dial. You will be able to ring
any number, in any location, on any device, without even dialing
the number.
Click-2-CallSM Saves You Time
Let's say you have to call all the parents on your son's sports
team. With Click-2-CallSM, just highlight the list of numbers
and it will transfer the numbers to a drop-down list. You can
then click each number to dial it, saving you time and effort.
Never Misdial Again
Because Click-2-CallSM is integrated with your contact list,
such as Microsoft Outlook, you only need to keep one list. This
user-friendly feature works with any application on your computer.
You simply choose the number you want to call, and Click-2-CallSM
dials for you. This feature also installs a button onto your
Microsoft Outlook interface that can be used to place calls to
the contacts straight from your address book.
Another Great Included Feature From Vonage
Download Click-2-CallSM for Free! It works with Windows 98 or
Higher. Not currently available for Mac users. Remember that
you are making outgoing calls through your Vonage account. Therefore,
if you are not enrolled in one of our unlimited
plans, overage
charges apply to forwarded calls that exceed your calling
plan's monthly allotted minutes, and international calls are
billed at our great
low rates.
Important Note: Microsoft Outlook and all associated trademarks
are owned by Microsoft,
Inc.
Call Return
Ring Them Back Easily
Automatic Call Return
Have you ever had to run to catch a phone call and then missed
it anyway? Vonage Call Return, also known as *69, returns your
last incoming call automatically. Just dial *69 and your Vonage
service will dial back the last call made to you. So relax, and
stop running. Call Return service costs nothing extra. Now you
can get your exercise on your own terms.
No Extra Charges For *69
With Vonage, there are no extra charges to use the Call Return
feature. However, remember that returned calls are treated as
an outgoing call. Therefore, if you are not enrolled in one of
our unlimited plans,
overage charges apply to returned calls that exceed your calling
plan's monthly allotted minutes.
Returning The Call Is Up To You
Vonage Call Return Service is very user friendly. When you press
*69 a voice prompt will announce the return call number, date
and time of the call. The voice prompt will also ask you if you
wish to return the call.
CallerID Block
Hide Your Caller ID Information from Anyone You Call
Caller ID Block, also known as *67, allows you to block your
identity when you're making a phone call. This feature is always
off until you activate it. You activate this feature before you
begin dialing.
Activate Caller ID Block on a per call basis
You can activate Caller ID Block any time you make an outgoing
call.
- Pick up your handset.
- Listen for the dial tone and press *67.
- Wait for the dial tone and dial the number you are calling.
Protect Your Privacy
Caller ID Block allows you to make discreet calls. If the party
you are trying to reach has Caller ID, your number will not appear
on their Caller ID-enabled phone or device.
Caller ID Block Is Included
Like so many other Vonage value added services, Vonage Caller
ID Block (*67) is included with every Vonage monthly calling
plan.
Repeat Dialing
So You Don't Have To
Don't Waste Time With Busy Numbers
Don't you hate dialing a busy number over and over again? Vonage
Repeat Dialing can call back for you when the number you're trying
is busy.
Activating Repeat Dialing is easy and will last for 30 minutes.
When you hear a busy signal:
- Press #5
- Hang up when you hear a beep tone.
Vonage will ring you back when the phone number you're trying
to reach is not busy anymore. Pick up the phone and you'll be
connected.
Continue To Use Your Vonage Service While Repeat Dialing Is
Working
You can continue to use your Vonage number until your call back
is connected. Vonage will connect your call when both you and
your party are available.
There's No Cost To You
Most phone companies charge you extra for Repeat Dialing. Vonage
doesn't think you should be charged just to avoid the frustration
of getting busy signals. So Repeat Dialing is included at no
additional cost to you in every Vonage monthly calling plan.
Note: Some telecommunication carriers are not yet compatible
with Vonage Repeat Dialing. In these rare cases, Repeat Dialing
may not be activated when you press #5.
International Call Blocking
With International Call Block
International Call Block
Vonage offers an International Call Block feature for all of
our accounts, which allows you to block and unblock international
calling. You'll never have to worry about unintended international
calls again. This feature also blocks unwanted Directory Assistance
calls.
Easy Online Activation
- Login to your Vonage Web Account
- Click on "Features" tab from your Dashboard
- Configure the "International Call Block" option as you would
like.
International Call Block Is an Included Feature
We set out to redefine how you interact with your phone. More
control. More ways to fit your phone service around your lifestyle,
not the other way around. So, like many other Vonage features,
International Call Block is included at no additional cost with
every Vonage monthly calling plan.
Vonage Ring Lists
Let Your Virtual or Toll Free Plus Number Ring Multiple Lines
Your Virtual and Toll Free Plus numbers just got even better!
Now you can point these numbers to more than one Vonage line,
plus choose how these phones answer the calls. Ring Lists give
you lots of control over how an incoming call is answered. There
are three kinds of Ring Properties that you can set or change
at will through your web account:
- Sequential Dialing
- Random Dialing
- BlastMeSM
Sequential Dialing
With Sequential Dialing, your Virtual Number will ring each
number you specify in the exact order of your Ring List. If a
number on the Ring List is in use, the next number on the list
will be dialed immediately.
Example: You've given an important person your
Virtual Number and you don't want to ever miss their call. You
can add up to 10 Vonage numbers into your Ring List and this
one Virtual Number will ring the 10 lines in the order you specify
until we reach you. So even when you're busy, you'll have the
peace of mind that comes with contingency backup.
Random Dialing
Random Dialing rings every number in your Ring List in random
order until your caller connects to you.
Example: Sometimes it's not pragmatic to have
all your calls point to one phone number in the same sequence.
The person at the top of the Ring List might get too many calls,
while those at the bottom could get too few. Random dialing mixes
up where the calls point by randomizing the order of your Ring
List.
BlastMeSM
BlastMeSM is a customer favorite. BlastMeSM rings all the numbers
in your Ring List simultaneously. The call will connect to the
first phone that's picked up.
Example: Your family is expecting a baby any
day now. You absolutely don't want to miss that call, so you
use BlastMeSM to ring all your lines at once. Then you can pick
up whichever one is nearest and be on your way.
How It Works
Ring Lists are included with every Vonage monthly calling plan
at no additional cost. Remember that to create a Ring List, you
must have a Virtual or Toll Free Plus number and at least two
physical Vonage lines in the same account.
Call Hunt
Moving Forward
Important Calls Deserve That Personal Touch
You never know when that important call might come in. If you
have multiple Vonage phone numbers on the same account Vonage
Call Hunt rings your other line(s) when you're talking on the

number in your account. Whether you have 2 lines or 4, you can
pick the ring sequence in any order you would like.
Easy Call Hunt Management
Setting up Vonage Call Hunt is simple.

Vonage Call Hunt will even ring other Vonage lines around the
globe. Bring your Vonage phone adapter on an overseas trip. No
matter where you are, you will always be available to take the
call.
The Technology Takes Service to a Higher Level
Our Call Hunt feature is included in your monthly calling plan.
